The ballroom of Dharmawangsa Hotel was turned into something close to an Eden from fairytales with nothing short of magnificent and grandeur. Couture flower arrangements in fancy avant-garde shapes were everywhere, filling the room with breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere. The magic was done by Preston Bailey, a world’s preeminent event designer.
Last night, he collaborated with Indonesia’s very own Biyan Wanaatmadja, who showcased more than 50 couture wedding gowns from the Biyan Bride and Biyan Gold limited edition labels. The models who strutted on the runway in meticulously detailed couture gowns are Indonesia’s finest, while the guests of ‘Inspiration by Preston Bailey Featuring Biyan Bride & Biyan Gold’ event were the crème de la crème of our country, including Adinda Bakrie, Intania Bakrie, Amanda Soekasah, Jessica Nathalie, Renny Sutiyoso, Tirza Tabitha, Sjully Darsono, and Sarah Moerad.

HIGHLY APPRECIATE Biyan’s artistic approach to lift the cultural qualities ofIndonesia. But as a genuine marhaen living abroad in a city where Biyan learned the wonderful art of dressmaking, I wonder how could his high-end bash effected common marhaen living in the country side – i.e. Gunung Kidul, Purukcahu, or Baliem valley?
